Job Summary


The Senior Process Control Technician is responsible for establishing and maintaining process rates, downtime, and uptime, as well as work with various software programs to create reports to communicate and present process data. They will work with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization to successfully coordinate, control and disseminate business information, as well as analyze the data to optimize process parameters. They will also lead the Process Control Technicians in the successful execution of data entry and other process control needs. Further, they will create software training programs on complex data systems in conjunction with the Training Department. They will additionally perform work as assigned, including providing vacation coverage and functioning as a back-up Process Control Technician.


Job Functions


Data Analysis

  • Working with software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SAP, Coupa, and Infinity.
  • Attending and contributing to various team meetings (incl. performing data pulls in preparation for meetings).
  • Ensuring integrity of all data inputs (e.g., auditing Infinity data entries).
  • Creating ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Adjusting and maintaining processing line rates in conjunction with the Finance Department.
  • Reviewing Performance Summary reports and ensuring that they are disseminated to Senior Leadership.
  • Maintaining and standardizing End-of-Shift reports.
  • Disseminating Month-End reports.
  • Updating the Infinity database (e.g., when a new Line/SKU combination occurs).
  • Updating and disseminating the Bolt Report and holding/attending meetings to update Reason Codes.
  • Owning data reports for asset management (incl. Top Loss Management).
  • Owning the Key Standard report.
  • Updating the Glidepath Loss Tree reports in conjunction with Glide Path teams.
  • Updating and disseminating the Packaging Scales Net Weight Giveaway report.
  • Validating current waste stream performance.


Projects

  • Optimizing and streamlining the data entry system (i.e., improving the flow of data to the team).
  • Leading and assisting with various process and production projects.
  • Performing Design of Experiment (DOE), data collection and trials in conjunction with the Process Engineer.


Leadership & Training

  • Coaching team members in following Process Safety Management System (PSMS) to sustain the daily Glide Path Foundational System and Autonomous Maintenance (AM).
  • Leading the Process Control Technician team (incl. training Process Control Technicians on effective data entry practices).
  • Championing data integrity actions (e.g., training, coaching).
  • Providing recommendations and support for improving operational capabilities to all departments.
  • Assisting with the development and training of new processes implemented in production.
  • Training new employees on the software programs used for integral business functions (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SAP, Coupa, Infinity) in conjunction with the Training Department.
  • Supporting lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Following proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety guidelines.


Other Job Duties


  • Functioning as a Coupa and SAP Super User (incl. creating Access Request Management (ARM) tickets for onboarding new team members).
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

The Senior Process Control Technician position is primarily an in-facility role wherein the employee may be standing, moving, or seated for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts in the production facility. The employee may also be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, as well as wet and/or hot and/or humid conditions. The employee may be occasionally exposed to high precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection. Other personal protective equipment (PPE) required to be worn for this role includes, but is not limited to: smock, eye protection, gloves, hairnet, sleeves, ear plugs, pants, protective toe shoes, waterproof suit and goggles (when needed).


Job Qualification Requirements


Technical

  • Ability to create reports, charts, graphs, and tables, as well as write effective proposals and emails.
  • Ability to learn, adapt, and function with detailed technical data collection software.
  • Ability to communicate and document change and progress.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language (written and verbally). Knowledge of Spanish is an asset.
  • Has strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Writes clearly and informatively, edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively, and able to read and interpret written information.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and experience with using/creating pivot tables in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of SAP, Power BI, Coupa and Infinity is an asset.

  • Ability to collect, research, input and validate data, as well as use intuition and experience to complement and verify data.
  • Ability to generate creative solutions, uses feedback to modify designs, and demonstrates attention to detail.
