We're a high-performing, agile SaaS company that builds web and mobile applications for the commercial contractors. We have a small, mighty, and close-knit Accounting team and ready to add a Senior Payroll Specialist (temp to perm).

A little bit about you:

You're an experienced payroll expert who has excellent attention to detail and enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment to support the company's rapid growth and achievements. You can process semi-monthly payroll in a multi-state environment (exempt and non-exempt) and ensure timely and accurate delivery of salaries, wages, commissions, and incentive payments.

You enjoy being involved in many aspects of accounting and aren't afraid to jump in, help out, and maybe learn something new!

You'll be responsible for:

• Enter and process semi-monthly payroll
• Ensure employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Review and confirm any changes to employee information or benefits such as department, salary, exemptions and saving deductions are accurately reflected in both the accounting system and corresponding payroll
• Maintain all payroll records to include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages
• Prepare journal entries to record wages along with payroll related accruals and expenses
• Resolve payroll discrepancies
• Answer payroll inquiries from employees
• Provide support to Accounting Administrator during audits and other projects as needed

You'll need:

• 8+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
• Prior experience with payroll system implementation
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment by remaining flexible and pivoting quickly
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented with the capacity to multitask and work independently
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Software knowledge: Excel, Expensify, Google Suite, QuickBooks Online, Zenefits (or other HRIS)

Work Environment:

• This is a Hybrid position (2-3 days per week on-site at our Durham/RTP location) and must be based out of the Raleigh-Durham/RTP area in North Carolina.
