Job Description


The role of the Senior Music Supervisor is to handle the process of choosing and curating and pre-clearance negotiations of tracks for needed visual media. Acting as a liaison between the creatives, producers and business affairs managers. Staying on top of music trends, budgets, and new bands. Overall having a broad knowledge of all music. Storing and tracking all music researched.

The Senior Music Supervisor should have experience managing a Music Coordinator, creating and maintain strong relationships with record labels, music companies, licensing firms and composers. Additionally they should develop strong relationships with internal creative teams and producers, and be able to work in tandem with Business Affairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sits in on creative briefings to become aware of project and begin music search.
  • Works on a music brief with Producer and Creative.
  • Reviews Client usage specs and budget with Business Affairs.
  • Sends briefs to appropriate Record labels and Music Publishers with the client's specs and budget.
  • When the pitches come in, reviews and curates the best tracks based on the brief - begins discussion of negotiation with BA.
  • Once the list is culled down, the music is then sent to the Producer and creative team to review to picture.
  • Songs that are chosen from the list will then be sent to the Senior Music Supervisor and Business Manager to review and then confirm with master/publisher side to further negotiate.
  • Develops a database of music based on campaign submissions
  • When appropriate (depending on size and Producer on job) helps manage and facilitate original music scores.
  • Keeps an updated list of all outside music vendors and share with team
  • Considers starting a music blog and a monthly (or bi-monthly) mix to send to the agency.
  • Works to bring in bands for agency events and other needs
  • Creates music experiences at the agency (work areas, etc.)

TV, Radio, Digital, Social, Industrial Videos (client meetings, content for trade events/other places of public assembly), PR, Agency/Agency Self Promotion (showcases, new business pitches, all agency meetings, Holiday client CDs), new media (apps/downloads), Experiential.


Qualifications
  • Minimum 5-7 Years working in the music space (promoter, label, or licensing firm)
  • Understanding of music licensing model
  • Understanding of original music process
  • Strong existing relationships with labels, supervisors, licensing firms, etc.
  • Proven success in building strong relationships with creatives & producers, quickly earning trust
  • Event production experience

Compensation Range: $98,500 -165,500. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
