Background & Purpose of the Job
As the skin cleansing fragrance team, our mission is to elevate consumers’ experiences by delivering delightful fragrances to our consumers. We are looking for fragrance experts, with not only a passion for fragrance, but also a passion to create rewarding experiences for the consumers we serve, and in doing so make a positive difference to their lives. You will be leading the Global Fragrance team for skin cleansing at Unilever, working at the interface between our company and the Fragrance House suppliers to deliver excellence in all aspects of the perfumery of skin cleansing products.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
This role is a management position within the fragrance team and will work as the fragrance expert with a wide range of functions (marketing, R&D, Supply management, consumer insight etc) both regionally and globally involved in the fragrance creation and selection aspects for our Brands. The focus of this role is to lead and manage the fragrance work and team for skin cleansing business.
The core responsibilities of the role are
  • Lead a fragrance team in development of fragrances for our skin cleansing products and continuously build Unilever’s internal global fragrance capability.
  • Translate fragrance trends, consumer insights, category strategy and an in-depth understanding of our Brands in the markets in which they exist into fragrance briefs to inspire the best from Fragrance Houses.
  • Lead the brief and work closely with the Fragrance Houses to manage the fragrance development process, internally and externally, assessing fragrances and making fragrance recommendations across all project types (innovation, regulatory)
  • Ensure fragrance regulatory and safety compliance across markets
  • Work in close collaboration with the all key interfaces (formulation, brand, procurement) to optimise fragrance delivery and improve value

What You’ll Need To Succeed
  • 10+ years of industry experience in fragrance, at least 1 year in skin cleansing and experience managing teams.
  • The job requires a high level of olfactive ability coupled with an inquisitive passion to understand consumer preference in fragrance, being their voice in the creation of new fragrances
  • The candidate should be able to prioritize complex workloads, ability to work across multiple time zones and self-motivate. Leadership and good communication are critical to be able to deliver on this role considering the nature of the work and interfaces with stakeholders.
  • It’s also very important that the candidate be a team player, who enjoys collaboration within the fragrance team and with key interfaces, who can inspire others to go the extra mile when things get challenging and someone who will dedicate some time, passion and energy to ensure we win as a team.
Pay: The pay range for this position is $135,600 to $203,300. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
