Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager who lives in the Norfolk, VA area to work in our office 3x per week.
Join our growing Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) and help us establish the Best in Best Practices in Agile, Waterfall, and Lean at PRA Group!
As a Senior IT Project Manager with PRA Group, you will manage executive-prioritized projects with significant IT components to help drive change in the organization. Acting as a liaison between stakeholders at all levels and across multiple departments, you will work with talented and motivated individuals to expand your knowledge and skills. As a Servant Leader, you will make an impact in the growth of others while ensuring the successful delivery of your projects.

  • 5-10 years of experience managing technical projects end-to-end from planning through closing
  • 5 years of experience in a technical discipline with knowledge of Application Development, IT Infrastructure, Solution Architecture and/or IT Security
  • Successful experience interacting with key departments and stakeholders including IT, Finance, Procurement, Compliance and Legal
  • Knowledge of project management software and tools such as Smartsheet, Jira or MS Project
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, communication and time-management skills with a high attention to detail
  • Superior written, verbal and oral communication skills
  • Strong facilitation, self-awareness, situational awareness and conflict resolution skills
  • Able to handle multiple competing priorities to balance delivery and expectations with all levels of management
  • Adaptive and flexible Servant Leadership style focused on positive team development and dynamics
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Certification in Project Management, Agile Scrum / Kanban or Lean Six Sigma preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Concurrently manage several large and complex projects and deliver them on time, under budget, and within scope
  • Lead project teams, remove impediments and facilitate work to achieve positive, successful results
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement, knowledge sharing, and teamwork
  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members on Project Management principles and best practices
  • Interface with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Software Engineers, Developers, Solutions and Enterprise Architects, and others to drive technical solutions and communicate them in business terms to other stakeholders
  • Maintain positive, productive working relationships across departments and help promote a healthy PMO relationship with our constituents
  • Lead PMO process improvement efforts with the VP PMO, and support efforts to standardize processes and streamline practices
