The Senior Engineering Manager is accountable for the strategy and execution of the Autonomous Vehicle Rider and Delivery experience within the vehicle. This includes In-car visual and audio experience for driverless Ridehail riders, providing safe and smooth operations (supervised), in vehicle entertainment, release tooling to install/deploy in vehicle experiences, and scaling to millions of customers and new vehicle platforms.

The leader is responsible to build project roadmaps, prioritize work and implement those plans, building an extraordinary engineering organization capable of scaling as the company grows; this includes mentoring and growing strong engineering managers. What you'll be doing:

  • This role includes setting technical direction for In Vehicle visual and audio experiences by working closely with our PM and Design leadership.
  • Set strategy and vision to ensure what we deliver can scale to new vehicle platforms and can evolve along with AV technology.
  • Learn, iterate, and evolve quality of experience by closely monitoring Rider and Delivery merchants feedback.
  • Work with your team, Technical Project Managers, and external partners to build, prioritize and complete an engineering roadmap
  • Balancing interrupt driven work against long term plans
  • Represent your team in multi-functional and executive meetings

What you must have:

  • Experience delivering customer experiences for consumers on mobile, desktop or other devices.
  • Experience leading multiple teams and initiatives in a fast-paced engineering organization on the company critical path
  • Successfully scaled software engineering teams by growing engineering managers and driving external leadership recruiting
  • A track record of shipping scalable production-quality software for complex products

Bonus Points!

  • Experience building user experiences in the transportation industry such as Ridehail or Delivery
  • Experience developing autonomous vehicles
