SUMMARY

Responsible for developing and implementing an enterprise-wide data strategy to support, optimize, and integrate the Alliant network of data source systems into a database solution(s) that offers the end user simplified real-time access to business data that helps drive strategy, business decisions, growth, and shareholder value. Oversees operational Business Intelligence and data teams. Performs all duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures, and all federal, state and local laws, wherein the Company operates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops/augments a data infrastructure and solution that derives maximum value from the data available to the organization through automated, streamlined data systems and innovation.
  • Communicates the overall data vision, objectives, goals and value to the organization.
  • Establishes data procedures and policies that align with, and meet, industry best practices, to collect, prepare, organize, protect, and store data assets.
  • Partners with the business to analyze complex business problems and drive solutions that add value and meet business requirements and strategies.
  • Serves as a liaison to IT to remedy identified systemic data challenges.
  • Leads change management and adoption efforts with key stakeholders.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to build, prioritize and define workflows and requirements.
  • Identifies opportunities for process optimization and redesign.
  • Oversees the management and flow of data throughout its lifecycle.
  • Defines and manages the Data Governance Solution roadmap including data governance strategies, practices and requirements.
  • Ensures business intelligence systems meet organizational requirements.
  • Prioritizes data quality initiatives that ensure accurate business outcomes.
  • Improves user access to data while ensuring data protection and privacy.
  • Supports the development and marketing of new products, services and innovation.
  • Manages, coaches and develops team members to foster career growth.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in a data related field or comparable experience

Fifteen (15) years or more of experience in business intelligence, master data management, data governance, and data quality

Ten (10) or more years in a senior-level data management role

Experience with MDM/Data Governance/Analytics Tools (e.g., Profisee, Informatica MDM or Tibco)

Experience with working on large, complex projects within an Agile framework

SKILLS

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with both technology-minded and business-minded people

Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization

Positive leadership style with the ability to lead through influence

Solid business acumen including ability to think strategically and apply sound business judgement

Passion for excellence with a demonstrated strong drive-for-results attitude and style

Desire to work within a team, lead a team, and foster a collaborative team environment

Proven track record in data management, leadership, and information technology systems and tools

A strong background in IT and business is advantageous
