The Opportunity:

This position supports the American Girl portion of the global DAM (Digital Asset Management) system that holds all of the American Girl assets. This role is responsible for ingestion, tracking and metadata tagging for all AG assets. These assets include photography, illustrations, music, videography, guides and other documents. This position documents and provides input for the future state processes and systems being used to store and use digital assets by the different groups throughout AG.

This position may participate and/or support leadership with the Governance on Global DAM Team in order to align processes across the company and with Mattel to make sure we create and adhere to consistent global standards that are working throughout all business units. In part this will be done by supporting the documentation of our future state processes, providing input to inform software configuration alternatives, executing policy for asset management and retention. Under the direction of leadership, executing alignment training and working with partners across all functions of the business units to inform needs, set standards, and implement change.

This role will also recommend workflow, process and system enhancement related to the DAM tool as the business changes and grows, to ensure the integrity, intellectual property and strategic asset management goals of the business are met. This role works with internal and external customers and vendors to grow the functionality of DAM to meet future needs by working closely with Global IT.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • To deliver DAM management tool to users that meets business needs, meets Global standards, and functions with little to no technical issues.
  • To make sure team is executing properly and images are getting ingested with the right metadata, mentoring and leading team
  • Ingest marketing assets and lead those assets by adhering to and applying digital naming conventions, file management, metadata, and quality control.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external partners to service different department DAM system needs.
  • Assessing current workflows and being able to provide recommendations to inform appropriate software solutions
  • Leading the set up and supporting the implementation of a DAM system
  • Under the guidance of leadership support the processes to build, migrate and maintain our DAM systems running the database and archiving systems.


What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a major in library science
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in digital asset management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Design, Video and Photo Editing processes and asset types
  • Familiarity with wide variety of file types and formats
  • Content marketing industry experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Usage Rights documentation and requirements
  • Contribute to and maintain existing standards and governance guidelines.
  • Ability to handle high volume of assets and complex projects and tasks for multiple people and departments, maintain composure while managing competing priorities
  • Must possess solid organization, effective time management, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with Digital Asset Management systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High volume editing or production environment experience at agency or brand desirable.

The base hourly rate for this position is between $23.45 and $35.60.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base hourly rate will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
