Senior DevOps Engineer (TS//SCI Eligible) Job at Skyward Federal

Note: this position requires US citizenship.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Has 5+ years of experience supporting Kubernetes-based deployments on AWS.
  • Has relevant experience deploying workloads to Kubernetes, and using common Kubernetes tools - Helm, Kubectl, etc.
  • Has relevant experience with containerizing applications and Docker-based dev workflows.
  • Has lots of experience building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Be eager to learn new technologies and expand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Be familiar with event-streaming architectures (using Kafka & service meshes).
  • Be familiar with modularity and microservice architectures.
  • Has some experience in a startup environment.
  • Has experience building scalable, maintainable data pipelines and/or event streams.

Bonus points (but not required):

  • Preferably have an active clearance or be clearable to TS//SCI.
  • Has supported an air-gapped deployment - ideally on Kubernetes.

The soft skills or non-technical skills required are just as important than the hard skills and are simply:

  • Be a self-motivating individual.
  • Take initiative and be effectively autonomous.
  • Be flexible and patient enough to learn new skills and adapt to changing requirements.

Office hours are flexible as needed with most work performed remotely (as we are a geographically dispersed team).

Some travel may be required on an as needed basis, but not often. Must be a US citizen.

Pay: $140,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
