Keller is looking for Senior Engineer based out of our Phoenix, AZ office locations. You will work as part of a team of industry-leading professionals with over 100 years of combined experience. We apply cutting edge analysis and design techniques to develop elegant and economical solutions that solve challenging geotechnical problems at sites throughout the Western U.S.
Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing advanced geotechnical/geostructural expertise for the planning, inspection, and design of construction projects. Independently applies sound engineering principles to develop economical solutions to a variety of complex geotechnical/geostructural issues. Helps guide and coach junior engineers on the team. In addition, assist with research and development of innovations in geotechnical design and construction.


Business Unit Design Services

  • Independently conducts engineering analyses and designs for design-build services with a focus on ground improvement. Ability to perform earth retention and deep foundation design and analysis is a plus.
  • Maintains the design competency through development of in-house tools and training.
  • Serves on internal technical committees to guide the state-of-the-practice within Keller’s global network of design engineers and project managers.

Quality Management

  • Develops project specific and product specific quality management processes for design-build projects.
  • Tracks project quality control non-conformances to ensure that design-build projects are completed to company standards.

Business Development

  • Routinely provides technical expertise for business development presentations and client meetings.
  • Attends local professional group meetings such as GeoInstitute, EERI, etc.
  • Serves on regional and national technical committees to maintain Keller’s position and reputation of technical expertise.

People Management

  • Provides guidance, direction, coaching, and support to junior engineers to maximize individual and overall department performance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering. MS or PhD preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in geotechnical or geostructural engineering preferred, at consulting and/or specialty contracting firms.
  • Training/experience in earthquake engineering preferred.
  • Experience in geotechnical construction design-build projects preferred.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Proficiency in software such as:
    • MathCAD
    • MS Office
    • Ensoft L-Pile and Group
    • Slide2
    • Settle3
    • Plaxis or FLAC
    • Scripting languages like VBA, Python or matlab
  • Excellent computer, written, and verbal communication skills necessary.

Compensation: $108,000 - $144,000 annually
