Boarhog is seeking a Senior Command, Control (C2), and Intelligence (C2I) Engineer stationed Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) near Naples, Italy to lead technical actions for the U.S. Navy's Fleet Systems Engineering Team (FSET) contractor support.

The mission of the Navy's FSET program is to facilitate the effective operation of afloat and ashore Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems, components, and Information Warfare capabilities throughout the Operational Fleet Readiness Plan (ORFP) Cycle. Additionally, the FSET provides systems engineering and technical support for the rapid introduction of new capabilities into the fleet through fleet experimentation and operational fleet exercises.

For many years the FSET has delivered end-to-end Information Warfare systems engineering support to all Numbered Fleet Command ships, Carrier and Expeditionary Strike Groups (CSGs, ESGs), Amphibious Ready Groups, and at various locations that support forward deployed Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) ships. The FSET located afloat and ashore addresses the availability of capabilities from initial workup through deployment, and during maintenance and upkeep periods. They are trained to conduct fault isolation, casualty restoration, and maintenance assistance to resolve problems that cross multiple C4I systems and provide over-the-shoulder training and assistance to Fleet customers while observing System-of-Systems and component performance toward ensuring the persistent availability of critical capabilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Senior C2I Engineer will be responsible for the following:
  • Lead Command, Control, and Intelligence Engineering activities in support of FSET contractor performance effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Support afloat planning, implementation, and troubleshooting for joint C2 applications, Tactical Data Links (TDLs), Global Command and Control System - Maritime (GCCS-M) operations, Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), and other supporting technologies used by Naval Commands serving as or supporting a Joint Task Force (JTF).
  • Provide systems-level engineering expertise to support Navy C2 Program-of-Record (PoR) systems (e.g. GCCS-M, MTC2, Tactical Data Link Systems such as Link 16, C2P, and LMMT).
  • Deploy to support Navy operational requirements, Navy Exercises, and other emergent of needs of the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) Fleet Readiness Directorate (FRD).
QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must have the following experience:
  • Working knowledge of afloat and ashore Navy C4I, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems.
  • Working knowledge of Navy shipboard Combat Systems networking, C2 Warfare Systems, and the GCCS-M AN/USQ-119E(V).
  • Six (6) years of experience with the execution of communication plans including frequency administration/allocation and troubleshooting RF mediums and tactical data networks between Navy platforms and terrestrial communication stations.
EDUCATION:
  • The candidate must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology or a related degree. The Bachelor’s degree may be substituted with six (6) years of direct experience with the operation and maintenance of Common Operational Picture (COP) network interfaces and associated Navy-specific tactical data links and database structure.
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Eligible for a TOP SECRET/SCI clearance (i.e. must hold a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) that has been adjudicated to Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) -704 standards within five years).
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Relatively short-duration travel on occasion is anticipated. Ability to deploy in support of Navy operational requirements, Navy exercises, and implementation of Navy Speed to Capability special projects.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Remaining in a stationary position.
  • Often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
