Summary

Senior Business Systems Analyst, Finance Technology is responsible for the support and development of Oracle Hyperion HFM, Planning, and other peripheral applications to support the Hyperion landscape. Technical and Functional expertise required in Hyperion HFM and Planning. Should have advanced technical skillset in requirements gathering, design, development, and support. This individual works under general supervision to formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with a strong understanding of user needs, applicable business systems, technology, and industry requirements. Develops or modifies complex information systems including analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic and workflows as necessary to automate/optimize processes. Serves as a senior subject matter expert for business applications (HFM, Planning) within the scope of responsibility. Works at the highest technical level of most phases of systems analysis while considering the implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment. This position is also responsible for diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving system and data issues. He/she will need to determine the root cause of user-reported problems, provide accurate and timely solutions or workarounds, and implement technical and training resolutions to minimize reoccurrences. Should be a team player with excellent communication skills to support current users of Finance Technology applications.

Qualifications

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers at their level, both domestic and global.
  • Provides business consulting support to customers and proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in business case development for new applications/functionality, including cost/benefit analysis and risk/impact analysis.
  • Works closely with one or more vendors including ongoing performance monitoring, issue resolution, Statement of Work reviews, etc.
  • Responsible for gathering and documenting requirements using multiple methods including interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, and task/process/workflow analysis.
  • Escalation points for complex issues performing system configuration and development/scripting as needed.
  • Manages test plans and performs application testing for configuration or system-related changes.
  • Manage module patches, bundles, and upgrades, including testing, documentation, and implementation with all stakeholders.
  • Audit policies and controls related to the area of scope to ensure legal requirements are met and provide a compliance plan, as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems through automation, process re-engineering, and new/improved features.
  • Develop/deliver/maintain end-user training and system documentation as needed.
  • Serves as Project Manager for select projects.
  • Develop/deliver/maintain/support applications for global systems within the scope of responsibility.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience preferably in a Global organization
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Hyperion HFM and Planning

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job

  • Microsoft Office proficiency required
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Experience with scripting languages (Maxl, MDX, Batch, VB) preferred
  • Experience with a case tracking system such as ServiceNow a plus
