Be part of a team assessing and driving achievement of program specific performance within Honeywell PMT. You will partner with world class engineers and leaders to develop program cost, schedules and milestones, define technology roadmaps, and drive improvements in engineering quality and productivity.

The purpose of this role is to lead/implement complex and standard engineering solutions, typically undertaking one aspect of a large project (i.e. MMI, Control or Safety applications, IT, Hardware design), to successful completion within budgeted time and cost constraints achieving required quality. May interface directly with customers on specific design details of non standard solutions. Can technically coach/mentor an assistant and actively shares knowledge with other engineers in the discipline team. To support the implementation of projects in line with P&AS objectives including continuous improvement of margin, customer satisfaction, schedule, working capital and safety performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, budget) are in place prior to commencing work.
  • Produces part(s) of functional design specifications under supervision.
  • Produces (parts of) detailed design specifications.
  • Executes work assignment to appropriate standards and quality systems (Implementation, Test & Documentation)
  • Coaches and supports assigned engineer(s) to ensure they are able to meet the requirements of their work.
  • Monitors and controls assigned work scope against the project plan.
  • Effectively communicates with customers to fully define and agree project requirements.
  • Proactively recommends potential quality and efficiency improvements within the engineering group
  • Shares technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering disciplines
  • Reports progress and technical problems and/or changes to project lead engineer or principal engineer.

MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Electronics or Communication
  • 7+ years of experience in process control automation

WE VALUE
  • Implement engineering projects and addition/modification for Experion PKS control System, 3rd Party programmable logic controllers (PLC), 3rd party and SCADA systems.
  • Technical interface with customers and define the control/safety systems specifications based on project requirements. Ensure required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, budget) are in place prior to commencing work.
  • Produce functional and concept technical design specifications and provide technical leadership, support and expertise for single discipline.
  • Perform required integration of multiple automated systems such as Safety System, power distribution systems, AC/DC systems, programmable logic controllers and distributed control systems.
  • Provide control improvement and create/modify control strategies and implement new control routines (petrochemicals, gas compression, oil separation and oil platform processes, and water recovery and utilities).
  • Estimate man-hours required for work packages, requisition hardware & software needed, perform hardware & software integration, configure system instrument databases & control system custom graphics & reports.
  • Develop FAT and SAT procedures and Perform loop checks, continuity tests, factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, start-up support, and performance tests for process control systems.
  • Ensure the engineered solution meets project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality, supporting documentation, and implementation process at minimum cost by allocating work assignments to project team.
  • Ensure work assignments are executed to appropriate standards and quality systems throughout the implementation, testing and documentation stages.
  • Monitor and control assigned work scope against the project plan, ensure effective change control and identifies risks / opportunities.
  • Proactively recommend potential quality and efficiency improvements within the engineering group.
  • Share technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering disciplines.
  • Report progress and technical problems to project and engineering supervisor.
  • Actively contribute to the pre-engineering phase of a project, including advising the customer on what information is required before the project begins.
  • Assist sales organization in defining and estimating the engineering/technical scope of work.
