What You Have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • At least three years of Accounting + Supervisory experience required.
  • Strong Analytical Skills
  • Ability to train and manage staff.
  • Mastery of accounting and tax preparation software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Summary/Objective

The Senior Accountant will assist in overseeing the general accounting operations. This position works closely with the Human Resources Department to ensure payroll is executed in accordance with the Company’s standards.

Essential Functions

1. Interacts with the accounting staff, overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll functions.
2. Conducts training for new hires and identifies training opportunities for current staff.
3. Monitors and reviews the system of internal controls over Accounting functions to minimize risk.
4. Processes bi-weekly payroll accurately, reconciling all payroll reports.
5. Reconciles all bank accounts and monitors allocation of account balances.
6. Performs month-end closing activities including preparation of journal entries and financial statement analyses.
7. Maintains and reconciles balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
8. Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements and annual budgets.
9. Contributes to the development or improvement of new or existing accounting systems, programs and procedures.
10. Assists with the year-end financial audit and coordinates with the external auditors for requested information.
11. Complies with local, state, and federal government requirements.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment and is regularly exposed to a computer monitor and office equipment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is a largely sedentary role, with prolonged periods sitting at a desk or computer; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stoop, as necessary. This position may require the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

This is a full-time, exempt position.

Travel

Travel to various worksites may be required.
