What opportunity is available?
Clearview’s Assurance & Advisory Practice is looking to hire a full-time Senior Accountant. This person will report directly to the Manager. Our firm is headquartered in Owings Mills, Maryland and while this new hire may often work remotely, it's preferrable for them to be within driving distance of the office and travel to client/prospect meetings, conferences, etc., as dictated by business need.

What will this new hire do?
Under the general direction of Managers, the Senior Accountant leads and/or participates in the completion of audit & technical consultation engagements. In this role, day-to-day tasks may include performing audit procedures, preparing financial statements and management letters, researching technical accounting matters, preparing technical accounting memoranda and using audit/accounting tools and technologies to analyze client data to provide meaningful insights regarding clients' financial statements. Specific responsibilities entail:
  • Leading the execution of day-to-day activities of audit and accounting engagements for our clients including SEC registrants and non-profit organizations
  • Gaining an understanding of assigned clients’ objectives as well as their regulatory and risk management environment
  • Identifying and researching clients’ accounting issues
  • Coaching, guiding, and providing feedback to Staff Associates and/or Interns
  • Interacting with clients’ key management to gather information, resolve audit-related problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements
  • Documenting a comprehensive understanding of clients’ financial and operational processes
  • Proactively communicating with the audit team on various aspects of engagements
  • Providing exceptional service to clients remotely and in-person, always acting as a positive brand ambassador for Clearview
What is required for consideration?
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 2 (two) years of recent accounting and/or external audit experience in a public accounting firm(s)
  • Experience mentoring associates, leading teams and/or directly supervising employees while simultaneously managing multiple engagements
  • Desire and willingness to become a CPA within an agreed upon time frame to include meeting the minimum educational requirements for CPA licensure
  • Unwavering integrity and ethics
  • Experience interacting with clients, establishing credibility, trust and healthy relationships
  • Demonstrable examples of project management, innovative thinking, and problem solving
What is preferred for consideration?
  • CPA
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Accounting
  • Established professional network
  • Knowledge of tax and regulatory issues impacting audits, GAAP, and GAAS
