As a Security Officer Trainer, you are responsible for training officers in their Region. The department is the forefront of training and new idea implementation across the system. These positions are critical in ensuring each Security Officer is being provided continuous and consistent training. Ensure they all will respond well to emergency situations, help to provide safety and security for patients, visitors, and staff. You will patrol service areas including the grounds and provide alarm monitoring and response. The team consists of 5-9 Officer Trainers reporting to a Senior Manager and Director. Preferred qualifications:

2-3 Years with Banner Health security or equivalent

POSITION SUMMARY
This position delivers training to employees that may include, but is not limited to AVADE, Handcuffing, Active Shooter, Pro V2, report writing and various security topics. This position will gather and track data regarding training activities for the facility or assigned region.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Delivers training that includes related materials for security and technical education, while utilizing adult learning principles to deliver standardized content and materials.

2. Tracks education enrollment, attendance and completion. Ensures data is maintained timely and accurately.

3. Coordinates and communicates feedback from trainees to ensure training needs are met, including gauging the audience and environment and tailoring the session as appropriate.

4. Tracks and follows up on the results of evaluations, providing feedback to leadership and suggesting opportunities to enhance trainings.

5. Participates in unit, system or facility committees and teams in an educational capacity.

6. This position must interact with and support all levels of end users throughout the facility, including security officers, technicians, nurses, therapist, and physicians. This position will coordinate activities with facility and system levels. This position will be interacting with all levels of management and staff, and other healthcare members for the purpose of integrating services, enhancing the safety and security, utilizing effective training methods, and ensuring effective communication systems throughout the facility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Diverse security experience as normally obtained through two years of security related experiences. Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively deliver trainings/presentations to various audiences and communicate professionally and effectively about software applications to customers in a hospital environment. Must successfully complete 40 hour instructor development course. Comprehension and correlation of law, policies/procedures and standards. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and implement change strategies with large groups and possess critical thinking skills with an ability to prioritize and react to needs rapidly. Must participate and promote team building skills, as well as provide excellent customer service.
