Security Monitor J ob Description:
  • This position will primarily work at the new Raclin Murphy Museum of Art and at the existing Snite Musem of Art. However, all monitors are cross-trained to work in the Basilica, Main Building, Hesburgh Library, and Entrance Gates and can be assigned to any location if a need arises.
  • Observe, protect, patrol and enforce rules/regulations to help ensure the safety of guests, faculty, staff, and students as well as the assets in the venue where they are assigned
  • Use radio communication, answer phones, monitor CCTV, complete paperwork, lock/unlock and secure the venue, and control keys as assigned
  • Help ensure the safety of guests and community members by reporting any unusual circumstances
  • Respond to emergency situations by following established guidelines
  • Provide exceptional customer service while welcoming guests, faculty, staff, and students by providing directions and information requested

This position supports and reports to the Lead Security Monitor.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of work experience that required decision making
  • Willing and able to become certified in First Aid and CPR
  • Good interpersonal skills, enjoys meeting the public and creating a positive visitor experience
  • Able to move through various areas of the buildings to monitor areas for safety purposes, provide information/directions if requested by visitors, and review camera footage
  • Attention to detail, trustworthy, professional, consistent, and reliable
  • Must maintain confidentiality of financial and departmental information and respect the privacy of information pertaining to our entire campus community (students, staff, faculty, and visitors)
  • Must be available to work all home football games
