Tailchasers Barrington Pet Resort in Lake Barrington, IL, is looking for a reliable, attentive, and motivated pet lover to join our team of pet caregivers - NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. We provide the tools you need to ensure your success within our company.
*This is a Seasonal position available through April 2nd, 2023. IMMEDIATE START available.*
Compensation & Shift Structure
- $15 hourly + tips
- Part-time 6:50a - 12:30p, or, 12:20p - 6:00p
- Full-time 6:50a - 3:00p, or, 9:50a - 6:00p
Position Overview
Our Enrichment Counselors have the pleasure of caring for all pets within our facility (dogs, cats, and birds). The position requires sanitation of pet lodging areas, feeding, medicating, rendering spa services (baths, nails, teeth brushing, ear cleaning), and overseeing play sessions. The ideal candidate for this position will be comfortable managing dogs of various sizes on leashes/leads, being on your feet for the entirety of your shift, and comfortable being outside in various weather conditions such as rain, snow, or shine.

Responsibilities
- Managing facility dog playgroups
- Pet spa services: baths, nail trims/grinds, teeth brushing, ear cleaning
- Kennel cleanliness
- Pet feeding & medication
- Executing the teaching of BASIC dog training commands (sit, stay, wait)
- In-person engagement with clients visiting our facility
Requirements
- US citizen or legally authorized to work in the US
- Able to pass a background check
- Weekend availability
- Strong ability to work independently
- Able to commit to this position for 6 months from the date of hire
- Available to work holidays
- Ability to communicate with customers in a friendly manner
- Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
- Able to stand for at least 6 hours uninterrupted
- Basic knowledge of computers and tablets
- 18 years of age or older
- Must be teachable and flexible
