JOB DESCRIPTION:

The role is 'on the road' selling of Silversea services and account management of trade partners within an assigned territory. Sales Managers are charged with the development and execution of an allocated area sales plan to drive and maximize revenue opportunities. This is achieved through managing existing accounts and developing new accounts, building customer rapport and generating customer loyalty. Sales Managers will also be in charge of driving engagement with VS guests living in the assigned territory

  • Manage a portfolio of travel agents within the allocated territory to achieve and exceed assigned targets

  • Define, implement and communicate effective account management strategies that maximize revenue generation

  • Initiating and implementing (in co-op with the marketing team) marketing programs for select all accounts with strong focus on ROI

  • Establish a robust pipeline of new business opportunities via identifying new partners or growing portfolios of existing partners

  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of both expedition and classic products

  • Drive sales on both expedition and classic products

  • Drive up-selling activities to higher suites

  • Expand Silversea product and brand awareness to the travel agent community; educate trade partners on new products, features and itineraries with a strong focus on expedition cruising.

  • Dive lead generation for MICE product

  • Forge and maintain strong relationships with trade partners as well as Silversea guests, especially VS guests (both trade and direct guests) that drive attachment to and engagement with Silversea

  • Organize VS guest events for guests residing in the assigned area

  • Undertake activities with trade partners and guests at trade shows, demonstrations and product launches

  • Effectively manage channel neutrality in the assigned territory; if the guests prefer booking direct, refer them to direct team

  • Embrace and popularize use of digital tools in business development and account management, such as webinars, e-marketing collateral, e-DMs, etc.

  • Provide relevant competition market & product intel; initiate and recommend changes to Silversea sales processes and policies, as well as competitive position to keep the company ahead of the curve

  • Track and monitor the competitive landscape of the industry as well as notify of any opportunities within the marketplace;

  • Regular use of CRM system with weekly and monthly reporting of activities

  • Review weekly and monthly sales numbers; analyse performance of assigned portfolio and address areas not achieving targets on an ongoing basis;

  • Manage allocated trade funds to ensure they are within the guidelines and budgets as well as meeting expected ROI


SKILLS/QUALIFICAITON REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years sales/account management experience, preferably in the cruise/travel industry

  • Excellent public presentation skills, both B2C and B2B

  • Excellent telephone skills
