Our Sales Associate works in one of our convenience and fuel retailing locations. Job Summary:
As a Sales Associate, you will use cash registers, electronic scanners, and related equipment to conduct monetary transitions and interact with the company's customers constantly throughout your day while providing superior customer service. You will also assist in maintaining a clean and healthy environment with stocked merchandise. You may also prepare and serve food items.
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greets customers as they enter the location and meet company customer service standards.
  • Maintains a clean and healthy work environment according to company standards.
  • Adheres to all laws and regulations regarding the sale of any government regulated product or service.
  • Operates the point-of-sale system and other available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners. Identifies prices of products and services and tabulates bills with available equipment.
  • Accepts money in the form of cash, check, vouchers and credit or debit cards for items purchased; validates amounts and provides appropriate change following company cash control policies and procedures.
  • Assists customers with questions or price discrepancies.
  • Processes returns and exchanges according to store policy.
  • Assists customers in locating various products, resolving complaints, or providing information.
  • Bag, box, and wrap purchased items.
  • Ensures accurate transactions by balancing cash register at the beginning and end of shift, and sales at the end of shift.
  • Prepares and serves food items such as pizza, ice cream orders, and other items, as required.
  • Assists in replenishing and rotating products including coolers and/or freezers, as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Customer service and sales experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Comprehend and perform basic mathematical skills.
  • Understand and perform basic computer and point-of-sale skills.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the assigned shift.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds constantly and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling may be occasionally required.
  • May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
