We are looking to bring on a new SALES ASSOCIATE at The Cold Spring General Store!

About Us: We are not your typical General Store!! Located on Main Street in Cold Spring for the past eight years, we proudly offer a boutique-style retail experience for our local and visiting customers by creating a warm atmosphere and stocking a carefully curated selection of clothing, home goods, books, craft beers and ciders, and locally sourced provisions, with a focus on handcrafted, U.S. made goods that have a story and a true soul behind them. We stock items for simple, everyday Hudson Valley living. New York's ever growing artisan population means we can stock items from more local vendors than ever before and that feels great!

We excited to be inviting new sales associate to join our small and vibrant team at our Main Street store location. Retail and front-facing customer experience is ideal! We are looking for someone who is warm, personable, outgoing, responsible, well-organized and confident talking to others.

Floor Staff Duties: Be friendly, welcoming, and capable of multitasking while maintaining interaction with customers throughout the day. You must also be able to:

- learn our online Lightspeed Retail POS system at the register

- learn details about our products in order to inform and answer questions for our customers

- perform small, daily cleaning and lifting tasks

- intake inventory thoroughly and efficiently, and organize products on the floor and in storage

- answer phones and take detailed phone orders and messages for management

- be able to carry up to 25lbs on a semi-regular basis and stand for long periods throughout the day on the sales floor.

Since this is a retail store location, we do need all applicants for our sales associate position to be regularly available most weekends throughout the year between the hours of 10:30am - 6pm. No overnights or late evenings will be expected or required. We are a small team so reliability and the ability to be prompt are a prerequisite for this position. Once employees are fully-trained, shift will include opening and/or closing duties. Starting pay rate is determined based on experience.

The position starts at 2-3 days a week for 4-6 hours during the first few weeks, but new employees will also have the opportunity to expand their shifts to 4-5 days a week as the season picks up, if desired!
Applicants must be located within a reasonable commute to the store. Knowledge of the surrounding area is a plus.
