General Job Description

We are in search of an energetic, driven and goal oriented technical professional as a Sales/Account Manager that would be responsible for supporting key customers and increasing sales in an assigned geographic region. The successful candidate will have a desire to understand the materials testing needs of our customer and provide optimized, value-based solutions.

Compensation is comprised of a base salary + commission.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary point of contact for existing customers within your region and drive overall business strategy to include customer meetings, presentations, quote generation and customer support.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities and applications.
  • Proactive interaction with leads and prospects to develop and maintain an active pipeline.
  • Communicate market and competitive data to the marketing group.
  • Support and educate customers on our portfolio of products, leveraging Value-Based Selling
  • Support in resolving any customer issues through effective coordination and collaboration with appropriate departments including Quality, Sales, Customer Service, Operations and Engineering.
  • Provide on-site installation and training of new product sales when appropriate.
  • Effectively schedule appointments and plan travel arrangements
  • Document and maintain customer engagement through timely and accurate updates of the company CRM package.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in manufacturing technology, engineering, marketing, business administration or related field.
  • Prior B2B direct sales experience, preferably to technology/industrial clients
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical data to customers as related to their application.
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze prospect/customer challenges or opportunities and provide a consultative sales approach for solutions and customer relationship building.
  • Ability to demonstrate an effective prospecting discipline and experience including phone, email and digital platforms.
  • Engage in extensive customer contact to conduct sales; develop strong customer relationships; identify product applications and keep accounts informed of product developments.
  • Goal-oriented, persuasive and able to work independently and as part of a team to implement strategic business initiatives.
  • The ability to travel overnight
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Software
