Plymouth Tube is looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious team member to join the Winamac Team. This person must love change, be self-motivated and inspire others inside and outside the department. Individual should be able to communicate directly and openly with all levels in our organization. There will be many opportunities for thesuccessful candidate to engage their innovative and creative problem-solving skills to help move the Safety Department to the next level. It is a must that the Safety Coordinator has a high degree of personal integrity in dealing with superiors, and co-workers and will represent Plymouth Tube Company in a professional manner. The successful candidate will live in both the big picture as well as in the details, desire to make an impact, and work well on a team and individually.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

Working side by side with employees and the management team on ensuring safety protocols are followed daily. As well as doing safety training on a daily basis.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Leading collaborative efforts to develop and implement health and safety procedures and programs to improve health and safety culture, reduce injuries and liability, and ensure regulatory compliance to all regulatory agencies.
  • Mentor and lead Safety Team and Sub-committees
  • Record and perform analysis on Observation and Safety Audit Data including corrective actions
  • Maintain all requirements for the Corporate EHS Management System.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement within the Safety Program and Safety Culture
  • Participate in Rapid Improvement Events for Safety Improvement Initiatives
  • Lead safety investigations for near miss and incidents. Lead the program to ensure proper recording in Velocity system and training on using the system with all supervisors.
  • Maintain, update and educate employees on Safety Manual.
  • Participate in the Safety and Environmental Orientation and onboarding for new hires.
  • Schedule and conduct health and safety training and maintain training records and materials.
  • Maintain safety matrix for training topics for all employees. Enter training and other safety information into HSI.
  • Maintain the Lock Out Tag Out Procedures and JSA’s.
  • Be the main liaison with outside organizations, such as fire departments, hospitals, and rescue teams to assure information exchange and assistance.
  • Devise methods to evaluate and improve safety program and conduct evaluations
  • Maintain the OSHA 300, 301 and 301A.
  • Collect and provides data required by PTC, OSHA, and any other related governmental agencies
  • Keep Mill compliant with OSHA regulatory updates and changes.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as needed.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety related field, but not required.
  • Must have at least 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing facility leading safety preferred.
