The Revenue Cycle Associate is a member of the Integration & Operations team who supports the profitability of the revenue cycle departments of multiple retina practices within a corporate structure. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in different billing software, medical insurance regulations, and an expert at collecting patient and insurance payments. The Revenue Cycle Associate will also be responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality and handling personal information in accordance with HIIPA guidelines.

This is a remote position, but the ideal candidate must be available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm EST and able to travel to the corporate office in Southlake, TX and/or other practice locations, when necessary. Job Responsibilities
Assisting practice billing departments with EFT/ERA enrollments
Claim submissions and electronic billing through different practice PM systems, vendor websites and clearinghouses
Posting insurance payments made via EFT and paper checks into practice’s PM systems
Submitting corrected claims and appeals for denied claims
Collecting and posting patient payments in practice’s PM systems
Identifying denial patterns and solutions to avoid future denials
Staying up to date with payor guidelines regarding billing of retina services (including office and surgical services)
Assisting practices with credentialing projects
Any other project as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or SVP of Operations Required Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years’ previous experience as a medical biller or in a related healthcare administrative position; previous ophthalmology experience, a plus
Previous experience with NextGen, Nextech, Athena, Allscripts and/or AdvancedMD, a plus
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
Strong customer service skills and comfortable answering both patient and insurance company questions
Positive and professional attitude
