Summary

Job Summary: Our bike shop located in Brookings, South Dakota is looking for a Bike Mechanic and Sales Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality bike repair and service to customers, as well as assisting with bike sales and providing outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience with bike repair and maintenance, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for cycling.

Duties

• Perform bike repairs and service, including tune-ups, brake adjustments, wheel truing, and other maintenance tasks
• Assist customers with bike sales, including basic sizing, and recommending products
• Write service tickets and provide estimates to customers
• Provide outstanding customer service, including answering questions, providing recommendations, and resolving issues
• Maintain a clean and organized shop, including organizing inventory and tools
• Assist with bike assembly
• Keep up to date with industry trends and new products

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in bike repair and maintenance preferred
• Experience with sales and customer service preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
• Attention to detail and ability to problem solve efficiently
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• Passion for cycling and knowledge of bike components and accessories

The well seasoned staff has over 70 years of experience and loves working with cyclists in Sioux Falls and the region each and every day! Service

You want to be riding your bike so we work hard to get all service work done expertly and quickly. We're on a first-name basis with electronic shifting, hydraulic brakes, suspension, electric bikes and everything from one speed to 30. We appreciate all bikes and service all makes and models. Rentals

Do you have family coming to town and you're anxious to show off the bike trails? Spoke-N-Sport is the largest bike rental outlet in Sioux Falls. We rent comfort bikes, fat bikes, a tandem and road bikes. Daily and weekly rates are available.

Sales

We carry the brands that we believe in and ride ourselves. These are reputable companies committed to cycling and growing cycling. Cycling advocacy

Spoke-N-Sport is a firm believer in supporting local cycling events. It might be a race, a rodeo or the bike valet at JazzFest.

Rides

Now we're not claiming to be impartial but our favorite ride is our New Years Day Bike Ride. Way more cyclist than you can imagine prove every January 1st that temps ranging from 10 below to a balmy 50 degrees are perfect for starting the new year on two wheels!

Racing

Competitive racing in Sioux Falls has revolved around our crit and cyclocross races held annually. We also provide mechanical support for the Tri County Tour and RASDak as well as many smaller events such as bike rodeos, Tour Sioux Falls and Boy Scout Merit badge instruction.

Advocacy

Spoke-N-Sport actively advocates for cycling components in all city planning and Sioux Falls policy. Along with other cycling advocates we speak up to help educate legislators and city, county and state leaders.

Education

Cycling can be confusing at times. We are here to help you become a better cyclists by hosting Traffic Skills classes and bike maintenance classes. We know that being more comfortable with your bike is the best way to get you on it more often.
