POSITION: RJ Case Manager Specialist
REPORTS TO: Senior Case Manager – SEKY Project Site
LOCATION: Hopkinsville, KY


OVERVIEW:
The RJ Case Manager Specialist of VOA Restorative Justice is responsible for providing case management services to individuals who are engaged with the RJ program, in accordance with the vision and mission of Volunteers of America.


REQUIREMENTS:
 Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related field, can be within four (4) months/one semester of obtaining degree; or an equivalent of four (4) years’ experience in service work such as case management or client service coordination;
 Experience in working with youth or juvenile offenders is highly desired;
 Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated abilities in written reports/business correspondence is required; Effective oral communication skills to include demonstrated ability of public speaking or presentations to groups; Proficient with MS Office software. Working knowledge or understanding of the juvenile justice system and processes is also preferred; Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve problems through creative thinking and ability to analyze facts and data to formulate decisions; Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed; Travel throughout Louisville, KY metro area is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 Compile, inputs and tracks case information.
2 Facilitates process for assigned cases
3 Maintains communication with all parties to assigned cases, including victim’s family, offender, offender’s family, community representative(s), etc.
4 Regularly reviews conference agreements and monitor progress and completion of the agreements
5 Coordinates facilitator caseload and monitors conferencing progress
6 Provides case management services for conference participants
7 Documents conference process and case management activities
8 Conduct comprehensive assessments, and reassessments, to determine the need for housing, medical, social, educational, and other identified services.
9 Assists in the recruitment and training of facilitators
10 Assists in the education and development of facilitators
11 Engages and educates community organizations regarding Restorative Justice
12 Cultivates and maintains relationships with community organizations to provide support services for conferences participants
13 Identifies community resources and develops cooperative relationships with other social service providers.
14 Represents agency programs, policies and procedures accurately in the community and with other social service agencies.
15 Maintains accurate case records, which includes proper documentation of all meetings with clients.
16 Gathers and maintains data for program evaluation
17 Provides written reports and case file documentation as required.
18 Seeks and engages in personal and professional development opportunities.
19 Participate in monthly staff meetings and lead in trainings/discussions as assigned.
20 Assist with special projects as assigned.
21 Assist with reporting requirements as assigned.
