Reports To: Manager on Duty / Lead Host

Summary of Position:

Welcome and warmly greet all guests upon arrival. Manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests to a table that best serves their wishes. Assist with Bussing Tables. Thank guests for coming upon their departure and invite them back to our restaurant.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
• When possible, open the front door for guests entering and leaving the restaurant.
• When immediate seating is limited, record guests’ names. (Wait List)
• Provide guests with an estimated wait time.
• Manage wait list, and have the ability to locate guests in the restaurant when their table is ready.
• Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
• Seat guests based on their preferences while managing customer flow in server sections.
• Upon seating, offer guests menus and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect table for proper presentation, settings and completeness.
• Relay/Communicate messages to servers and bus persons as needed.
• Thank guests as they leave the restaurant and invite them to return.
• Maintain cleanliness of the entire restaurant.
• Maintain exceptional grooming habits.
• Learn and Operate Open Table System – Locations where applicable.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, servers and bar personnel.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Have good knowledge of the restaurant, bar and seating chart.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

Experience:

• Restaurant: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
