About Us

Founded in 1953 as United Cerebral Palsy of Lackawanna County, today UCP of NEPA provides an array of services for children and adults with various disabilities. Although we have expertise in the field of cerebral palsy, over 75% of the people receiving our services have disabilities other than cerebral palsy.

The service area of each program differs but our overall area encompasses Lackawanna, Susquehanna, Wayne, Wyoming, Pike, Bradford, Monroe, Sullivan and Luzerne Counties.

The agency is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and is a member of United Cerebral Palsy Association, United Cerebral Palsy of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Association of Resources: Autism-Intellectual Disabilities (PAR), and the National Lekotek Center.

Primary program funding is provided by: PA Department of Human Services - Office of Developmental Programs and Office of Child Development & Early Learning, the Lackawanna-Susquehanna Behavioral Health-Intellectual Disabilities-Early Intervention Program, the Wayne County Office of Behavioral & Developmental Programs and Early Intervention, the Human Services Development Fund of Lackawanna County, the PA Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, the United Way of Lackawanna & Wayne Counties, the United Way of Wyoming County, the Pennsylvania Elks State Association, PIAT - Pennsylvania's Initiative on Assistive Technology, and the Scranton Area Foundation.

Job Description:

The Residential Coordinator is primarily responsible for the overall functioning of (4) four assigned community homes. The Residential Coordinator will supervise the Direct Support Professionals and Residential Supervisors within the assigned community homes, as well as the daily activities that occur in the community home.

Responsibilities:

  • The Residential Coordinator will develop goal plans, including long-term goals, for their assigned residential caseload.
  • The Residential Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of the Individual Support Plan (ISP) for their assigned residential caseload.
  • The Residential Coordinator will complete residential community home schedules.
  • The Residential Coordinator will audit and ensure documentation in the assigned residential community homes is accurate and consistently completed.
  • The Residential Coordinator will participate as an active member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
  • The Residential Coordinator will ensure each assigned community home maintains a home-like atmosphere amongst all staff and individuals who reside in the respective community home.
  • The Residential Coordinator will report any safety and/or maintenance concerns to the Community Sites Manager and Director of Residential Services.
  • The Residential Coordinator will communicate regularly with their direct reports and supervise their direct reports effectively.
  • The Residential Coordinator will remain flexible to the needs of the residential program, and will be able to adapt to changes in duties, methods, priorities and environments.
  • The Residential Coordinator will maintain a cooperative and professional relationship with all staff, supervisors, and Directors to maintain an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect within the facility.

*The Residential Coordinator position does have an on-call responsibility for emergency situations.*

*Candidates must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. Rotating on call duties.*

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with (2) two years experience working with people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

OR

  • Associate's degree with (4) four years experience working with people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Valid PA driver's license in good standing.

COVID-19 considerations:
PPE is supplied to all staff. Staff mask at all times while providing services to individuals with disabilities. Office staff are required to mask when they leave their office/meet with others. Staff are screened daily for COVID-19 symptoms.
