Residence Manager

Job Summary:
Assists Program Director with the continuous responsibility and accountability for delivery of care in the program /unit. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, is responsible for the direct/ indirect supervision of an adult mental health and / or chemically dependent population.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises residence staff.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing by developing monthly staff schedules, monitors employee designated work schedules for overage and enforces OT policy.
  • Maintains effective communication and relationship with staff, families, outside agencies and other providers.
  • Ensures adherence to department/agency policy and procedure as they relate to daily activity.
  • Participates in hiring and termination process.
  • Conducts staff meetings as required.
  • Plan, organize and direct activities for the residents.
  • Develops goals and objectives for the residents
  • Responsible for the completion of psychosocial interviews when indicated, treatment recommendation and comprehensive, integrated assessment.
  • Provides crisis; risk assessments / interventions and therapeutic interventions to residents and families as assigned.
  • Conducts and / or assigns screening interviews.
  • Ensures the development and implementation of educational and special interest groups for staff and residents.
  • Ensures maintenance and household needs are met in a timely fashion
  • Maintains working knowledge of policy and procedure specific to pertinent regulations and agency policy.
  • Participates in the incident reporting process including timely reporting, completion of essential documentation and implementation of recommendations.
  • Responsible for maintaining all documentation and record keeping (including intake and discharge planning documents, treatment plans; progress notes; clinical reports; correspondence and performance improvement indicators).
  • Ensures that residents are engaged in appropriate recreational activities, which are developed and implemented with the individual interests of the resident.
  • Ensures all documentation is reviewed with the appropriate supervisory signature in a timely, complete and accurate manner.
  • Performs chart and related audits and utilization reviews. Conducts leadership findings and needs assessments/ analysis as needed for all programs.
  • Drives agency vehicle; provides transportation as needed to meet program demands (i.e., Dr.’s appointments).
  • Responsible to develop nutritious menu plans incorporating resident choice and dietary needs.
  • Maintain adequate food supply and oversees food preparation.
  • Monitors food budgets, resident spending and maintenance of residence and petty cash accounts while following accounting policy and procedures.
  • Provides on-site training for staff ensuring attendance to in-servicing as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring timely reporting of work-related injuries, via incident/accident reports, to the Human Resources Department within 24 hours.
  • Follows emergency / disaster preparedness protocols.
  • Remains flexible and available as it relates to personally providing coverage for a variety of emergencies, holiday, relief and weekend shift coverage, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services required
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience with chemically dependent and/or psychiatric population required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Computer literate preferred.
  • Maintain valid NYS driver’s license within agency criteria.
