Job Summary:

The Residential Life Department at Franklin Pierce University is focused on hiring energetic and invested staff members who are ready to enrich the residential experience of Students at Franklin Pierce. Based in Rindge, New Hampshire, we are looking to hire full-time, 12-month, exempt, live-in Residence Directors.

As a live-in professional, the Residence Director’s initial responsibility is to establish a safe residential community that centers on civility and community standards, respect for peers, and University property, of a residential area ranging from 150-300 residents. A successful candidate must be able to exhibit leadership and advisory skills, function in an emergency response/policy enforcement role, and must have the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and other members of the Franklin Pierce community.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to focusing on establishing a community based on civility, monitoring housing facilities, supervising up to 10 Community Assistants, upholding and enforcing Res. Life policies, supporting students on an individual level with academics and co-curricular experiences, resolving community issues and concerns, participating in planning residential events, and assessing the needs of the community.

Experience and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in student personnel or counseling is preferred.
  • The ability to interact effectively with students as a leader, advisor, and policy enforcer.
  • A Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Demonstrative administrative and supervisory skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Solid collaborative skills are required.
