Corteva Agriscience is seeking an experienced Research Toxicologist to support toxicology studies within the General Toxicology group at the Haskell R&D Center located in Newark, Delaware. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and oversee the conduct and interpretation of discovery and regulatory studies in support of safety assessment of crop protection products.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Study Director or Study Monitor for acute, sub-chronic, chronic and mode of action in vivo mammalian toxicology studies.
  • Design, conduct, interpret and report results for discovery and regulatory studies in mammalian toxicology to advance the crop protection chemical discovery and registration pipelines.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior scientific staff.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in mammalian toxicology within the Global Human Health Sciences function on discovery and development project teams.
  • Communicate findings to business and scientific audiences, through both oral presentations and written technical reports and manuscripts.

Qualifications

Requirements:
What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?

  • Ph.D. in toxicology or related area with 0-2 years of relevant experience. Or, MS degree with minimum 5 years relevant experience or BS degree with minimum 10 years relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in mammalian toxicology studies.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities to manage and coordinate multiple projects and chemistries in a timely and effective manner.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills that allow dissemination of complex technical issues in a clear, concise manner to a variety of scientific and non-scientific audiences.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience as a study director working in a GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) environment, preferably in industry or CRO.
  • Experience with OECD and EPA toxicity testing guidelines.
