Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Research Data Associate. Many individuals fail to succeed at long-term weight loss maintenance. An untested strategy for weight loss maintenance is a type of intermittent fasting called time-restricted eating (TRE). Time restricted eating for WeIght loSs mainTenance (TWIST) is a single-site, pilot feasibility and acceptability randomized clinical trial in adults with recent weight loss that aims to test two TRE protocols. In this role, the successful Research Data Associate (RDA) candidate will work collaboratively with the Principal Investigator (PI) and the study team to ensure the accurate execution of the study protocol in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA, IRB, and sponsor regulations. The RDA will track study goals, assist with participant recruitment and screening, and assist with study activities in conjunction with the PI and study team. The RDA will be assigned to work on different assignments and tasks between projects based on the real-time needs of the project and the interests of the individual. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: participant recruitment, baseline and follow-up data collection, participant tracking, and intervention delivery support. Responsible for protocol compliance and accurate data entry. Assists with IRB submissions and literature reviews as needed. Works collaboratively with the PI and study team to follow proper clinical trial processes and share up-to-date information on current issues.

Job Responsibilities:

Participant Recruitment and Data Collection: Recruit and screen patients for eligibility; if eligible, complete necessary paperwork, questionnaires, and tests. Review entered data, edit obvious errors, and obtain missing information. Document all data accurately and neatly. Maintain patient confidentiality. Adhere to adverse events reporting protocols.

Participant Device Set-up: Responsible for the initial set-up of devices to collect participant data. Devices include a wrist monitor to measure eating patterns and physical activity, a WiFi-enabled scale to measure body weight, and a smartphone app to collect food, beverage and, behavioral (e.g., exercise) data.

Participant Tracking: Track participant flow through the study and update tracking logs in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain participant tracking databases for compliance with data monitoring and confidentiality protocols.

Participant smartphone app training: Assist participants with smartphone app entries, which include, food, beverages, weight and, physical activity. Troubleshoot with participants any barriers or issues with smartphone entries. Monitor compliance to self-monitoring.

Project Knowledge: Demonstrate mastery of research protocol. Have a thorough knowledge of current department research studies and their rationales.

Other Duties: Assist with administrative duties as needed such as filing, copying, faxing, deliveries, and document preparation among others. Assist with institutional review board submissions as needed.

Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required (i.e. literature reviews, etc.).


Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Associate's degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in science, public health, health education or a related field. Prior experience in a health care settings.
Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications.
Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
Must be able to follow study protocol rigorously. Willingness and availability to work weekend or evening hours.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
