Join our highly engaged Surgical Acute team as a surgical acute nurse working at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista. You’ll join a team of skilled medical professionals who provide superior health services in a caring environment. The Scripps Health team is dedicated to making a positive, measurable difference in the health of individuals in the communities we serve.

Our surgical acute nurses gain exposure to general surgical patients including bariatric, ortho, spinal, urology, medical, telemetry, and trauma. This is a high-functioning unit that boasts exceptionally high employee engagement and patients satisfaction scores.

As a Surgical Acute RN, you will:

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice – patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patient's progress towards expected outcomes.
• Take primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

This is a Full Time (72 hours every two weeks) benefited position, working 12 Hour DAY Shifts on variable days of the week. This role is located at our Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista campus.

This position is eligible for New Hire and Relocation Incentives up to $7K

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:

• Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
• Must remain in original department/specialty
• Must remain in original Job Title
• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Required Qualifications:

• At least one year RN experience
• Graduate from an accredited school for nursing
• Current CA State RN license
• American Heart Association BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least one year of acute Med/Surg RN experience.
• At least one year of Acute Long Term Care experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Bariatric Certification preferred
