Hiring Day Shift (6:45am - 3:15pm)

Hiring Evening Shift (2:45pm - 11:15pm)

Hiring Night Shift (10:45pm - 7:15 am)


Main Function of a Registered Nurse (RN)

Plan, direct, control, supervise and coordinate all nursing service activities during tour of duty. Responsible for the coordination of the written resident care plan - developed on admission. Attends Interdisciplinary Team meetings as delegated/assigned. Responsible for the recap of Doctors’ orders.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Registered Nurse (RN)

1. Participates in formulating, interpreting and implementing department objectives of providing quality resident care in compliance with established guidelines and regulations.

2. Executes and evaluates effectiveness of resident care plans, department and facility administrative policies and procedures.

3. Monitors and evaluates performance of nursing subordinates, including LPN Charge Nurses Nursing Assistants and Valets. May initiate informal or formal counseling and initiate or recommend discipline, transfer, or other personnel transactions as authorized. May participate in grievance process and provide written response as authorized.

4. Receives and gives daily reports, makes daily rounds, and conducts unit surveys. Initiates, coordinates or recommends corrective action to resolve observed or reported resident care, procedural, or physical plant problems.

5. Attends supervisor meetings, communicates changes in policy and procedures and discusses department concerns/priorities with subordinates.

6. Keeps informed of new nursing care methods, equipment, etc., assists with orientation of employees. Assists in identification of department training needs.

7. Coordinates with physicians and ancillary departments in assessment of resident needs and treatments.

8. Required to make immediate operational decisions regarding emergency care situations and department staffing problems.

9. Maintains a clean, safe, orderly work area.

10. Functions as a Charge Nurse as necessary.

11. Monitors Infection Control and functions as Infection Control Nurse.

12. Attends quarterly meetings, mandatory and voluntary inservices.

13. Performs other duties as assigned by Nursing Office.

14. When needed provide activities of daily living, including mobility, eating, transferring, toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, etc.

15. Assists with monthly summaries.

Education for a Registered Nurse (RN)

Must be Pennsylvania licensed Registered Nurse.

Experience for a Registered Nurse (RN)

Two (2) years supervisory experience in geriatric setting preferred.
