Job Summary and Qualifications

This Job Description provides criteria for evaluation of the Registered Nurse working on the Pediatric Unit in the Staff R.N. position. This Staff R.N. cares for patients that include infants, children and adolescents.

• Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients.
• Responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice for Pediatrics patients and managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.
• Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care.
• Sets up equipment, as ordered, for patient.
• Assists physicians with procedures as needed.
• Maintains and improves nursing knowledge base, including knowledge and adherence to policies.
• Provides excellent customer service.
• Demonstrates willingness to act as a team player.
• Assumes the responsibility of charging the unit, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Complete PALS certification within 6 months of employment.
