Overview:
Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for the Orientation and Education Department at Overlook Medical Center to work 10:30AM-11PM, including every 3rd weekend of the month. This position has an on-call requirement.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served.
  • Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
  • Candidate will demonstrate and embrace the PRIDE core values (Professionalism, Respect, Involvement, Dignity and Excellence) in every aspect of their job.
  • Monitor and recover patients from the effects of anesthesia and provide all aspects of Phase I care following surgery and procedure.
  • Using critical thinking and decision-making skills, provide ongoing assessment, evaluation and documentation of patient care.
  • Be able to transition patients to the next level of care whether to a critical care or inpatient unit.
  • Phase II or discharge home in an expeditious, safe, and timely manner and provide accurate and complete handoff communication.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required
  • BSN preferred
Minimum Experience:
  • 1-2 years PACU and/or critical care experience preferred
Licenses/Certification:
  • Valid New Jersey Nursing License Required
  • BLS, PALS, ACLS Certification Required
  • CPAN, CAPA, or CCRN Specialty Certification Preferred
Qualifications:
  • Candidate must have excellent communication and computer skills.
