Position Summary:
To deliver care and create a therapeutic environment for patients and families whose needs range from basic to complex by utilizing the nursing process. To carry out functions in a manner consistent with Performance Improvement and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. To demonstrate clinical excellence through proficient practice which enhances and enriches the practice environment. Proficiency is evidenced by adeptness, facility, aptitude, ease and skill in managing complexity and uncertainty.
D200-Heart & Vascular Unit:
The Heart & Vascular Unit is the unit for our cardiac procedural population. It is fast paced- getting patients ready for procedures as well as receiving patients post procedure. Patients admitted to this unit undergo Cardiac Caths, TAVR's, Cardiac Ablations, Cardio Mems, and Watchmen. Some of the patients may have had a STEMI. The unit is basically a short stay unit- most patients leave same day.
Work Schedule:
Work schedule may include 8-12 hours per day with weekend coverage based on individual unit needs and call based on departmental/unit needs. Personnel may be expected to cover for patient care needs by rotating or working extra shifts. Nursing personnel are assigned to one area upon employment, but may be required to assume assignments in other areas to meet patient needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- BSN strongly preferred.
- Specialty certification preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current registration in the State of NH as a Registered Nurse.
- Ability to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) qualifications during orientation period and maintain during employment.
- Certifications per unit requirements: Refer to Education, Credentialing and Certification Policy.
