Busy clinic seeking a Medical Assistant with experience with peds. This is a Monday-Friday position, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. position. Contract to hire position. Available immediately.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Perform assigned competent clinical tasks under the direction of a registered nurse and by provider’s orders: administer medications, injections, immunizations and oxygen; perform nebulization, urethral catheterization and apply minor dressings and splints.

2. Perform screens and tests including: hearing, vision, developmental, spirometry, tympanometry and pulseoximetrey.

3. Set up for and provide direct assistance to health care providers with medical examinations and procedures including colposcopy.

4. Perform simple specimen collecting (e.g. accuchecks) and more extensive specimen collecting including: sputum sample collection, urine sample collection and throat swabs.

5. Obtain and document patient information and medical history including: current medications, allergies, chief complaint, and immunization history.

6. Perform basic patient care activities including: place patients in rooms, take and chart vital signs, pharmacy review.

7. Perform clerical duties including: answering the telephone, MyChart assignment, schedule appointments, receiving and faxing documents.

8. Under the direction of a registered nurse, provide patient education. I.e. fit testing, crutch walking, BP machines.

9. Recognize acute problems and changes in a patients' condition and respond appropriately by notifying clinical staff; perform CPR if required.

10. Demonstrate age specific competencies when providing direct patient care.

11. Clean equipment and rooms using appropriate infection control techniques.

12. Procure and stock equipment and supplies, and ensure that equipment is operable through quality assurance checks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
