Job Overview

Legacy Supply Chain is currently seeking an experienced Regional Transportation Fleet Manager to oversee our mid-sized dedicated fleet business in various locations across the US. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall dedicated fleet business unit. This critical position will provide leadership, direction and focus to optimize our network. This position will be based in our Franklin, IN corporate office and does offer relocation assistance along with a competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with 5% company match.

Job Details

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for leading all aspects of the operation, customer satisfaction and account performance across multiple operating sites.
  • Oversee the performance of fleet operations to including safety, compliance, driver leadership, equipment utilization, and fleet maintenance.
  • Responsible for development of account leadership teams
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies, including DOT and OSHA.
  • Responsible for leveraging fleet management technology to support operations (TMS, In-cab technology, etc.)
  • Assess business conditions, evaluate emerging business needs and take action to address opportunities to improve safety, service, quality and cost.
  • Create a positive work environment that is consistent with the Company’s values and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Review and evaluate performance of transportation functions, address performance gaps, and take corrective action, as needed, to ensure each functional area are delivering on operating goals.
  • Manage client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and support growth.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring operating and capital budgets.
  • Participate in sales process to grow fleet operations business unit.
  • Manage startups and operational projects.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years of increased responsibility within supply chain or transportation functions.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manager role.
  • BA or BS preferred or equivalent related work experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership of functional and cross-functional teams toward the achievement of objectives.
  • Strong analytical, financial & P&L competencies required to succeed.
  • In depth knowledge of key transportation processes and current best practices.
  • Ability to identify, predict, and solve problems.
  • Decisive visionary with the objective of balancing tactical and strategic issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Solid business acumen accompanied by interpersonal savvy.
  • Ability to influence and persuade in order to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Experience in vendor management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, interact and convey business decisions with many different levels within the organization.
  • Experience managing union workforce a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lean methodology.
  • Experience and knowledge of DOT compliance.
  • Must be competent with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel, up to 50%.
