Refrigeration Pipefitter Job at Comfort Temp Company
POSITION SUMMARY:
CT Mechanical is currently looking for Refrigeration/ Hydronics Pipefitters to join our growing team! Our ideal candidate is someone with integrity who will take pride in their work, and has 4 or more years of experience with laying out, assembling, and installing HVAC Refrigeration and hydronics systems.
Work Hours (Approximate) 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Some overtime and light travel as needed.
RESPONSABILITIES:
CT Mechanical is currently looking for Refrigeration/ Hydronics Pipefitters to join our growing team! Our ideal candidate is someone with integrity who will take pride in their work, and has 4 or more years of experience with laying out, assembling, and installing HVAC Refrigeration and hydronics systems.
Work Hours (Approximate) 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Some overtime and light travel as needed.
RESPONSABILITIES:
- Inspects work site to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that holes cut for pipe will not cause structural weakness
- Plans installation or repair to avoid obstructions and to avoid interfering with activities of other workers
- Cuts, threads and bends pipe
- Assembles and installs variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings including: iron, steel, copper and plastic
- Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts for HVAC/Copper Pipefitting
- Connects pipe using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints
- Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers
- Follows lockout/tagout procedures to shut down equipment according to OSHA requirements and company safety rules
- Sets up and operates various pipe cutting, bending, and threading machinery
- Bends, cuts, threads, shapes, fabricates, and installs pipe according to job specifications
- Cuts and bores holes in structures such as walls and fixtures before pipe installation; attaches pipes to walls and structures
- Makes hydraulic pressure test of piping installations. Checks and adjusts controls, gauges, and valves to achieve control of flow or pressure
- Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of commercial instillation of refrigeration and hydronics systems
- Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC knowledge
- Experienced in brazing copper
- Experienced in welding
- Ability to read blue prints (HVAC/ Plumbing)
- 4 or more years of related experience in field or equivalent combination of education and experience in field
- Must pass drug test and level 2 background check
- OSHA 10 preferred
