Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Recruitment and Training, the Recruitment and Training Specialist will source, identify and qualify candidates for headquarters positions at URC and support URC’s training function.
Working with the Director of Recruitment, the successful candidate will partner with URC hiring managers to source, recruit and hire international development professionals experienced in working on USAID and other donor funded health related projects and will support the development and delivery of internal URC training programs
Recruitment:
Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Participate in recruitment intake meetings with hiring managers
  • Recruit candidates for URC headquarters positions including positions in programming, business development, technical support, compliance, operations, contracts finance and other areas as needed.
  • Identify, approach and recruit passive candidates.
  • Screen candidates and manage interviews.
  • Negotiate salaries and close candidates.
  • Write and post job descriptions.
  • Work with the Director of Compensation on offers and pay scales.
  • Represent URC at career fairs, professional conferences, and networking events.
  • In collaboration with the Director, support the hiring of interns
  • Manage external recruitment accounts of DevexLinkedIn, and others as added.
Training:
Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Work with the Director to support presenters of internal training in design of training programs, PowerPoint slides, activities etc.
  • Support ongoing training series for international managers, international human resource professionals, program management training, diversity and inclusion training as well as other programs, as needed.
  • Coordinate internship training including registration and support for presenters
  • process in compliance with URC corporate policies and procedures and federal guidelines.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Self-starter, creative and enthusiastic
  • Excellent writing, organizational, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • General awareness of the scope, progress and business of international development work funded by U.S. donors, mostly based in the Washington, DC area
Qualifications:
Required and Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Minimum three years of work experience.
  • Some recruiting experience required.
  • Some recruiting experience with one of the following is preferred:
    • Recruiting for a government contractor
    • Recruiting for donor funded international development organization.
    • Recruiting for an outside search agency or retained search company
Physical Demands
  • This assignment involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
  • This position may require frequent travel to domestic and international locations with varying distances, duration, and modes of transport.
  • This position may require vision, hearing, talking, standing, sitting, walking, lifting.
