The Opportunity…
As a member of the People & Culture (HR) Team, reporting to the Co-VP of People and Culture, the Recruiter will serve as a champion, change agent, and subject matter expert, acting as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to maximize talent acquisition and achieve business objectives.
This person will create as well as spearhead GRID’s overall recruiting program and create practices that align with the organization’s Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity goals and understand that this can only be achieved within a framework of social, economic, and environmental justice.
The Recruiter will bring rigor and company-wide best practices to leverage and grow GRID’s brand as an Employer of Choice. They will be excited by the proposition of strengthening the company’s culture and helping match great folx with their perfect position.
Accountabilities :
  • Work with hiring managers and executive staff in developing and implementing plans for ongoing recruitment needs; be a key thought partner in recruitment strategy for GRID Alternatives
  • Oversee and provide leadership on all recruiting functions - source candidates, use our ATS system to manage the candidate pipeline, conduct screens/interviews, and support internal Hiring Managers with advice and guidance
  • Hire and manage two recruiting support staff. Recruiter will have the opportunity to weigh in on the scope of these two roles
  • Collaborate closely with the HR Generalist Team, particularly on moving candidates from offer to onboarding, internal transfers/promotions, and hiring rule compliance. If capacity allows, collaboration with the Generalist Team may also include projects like salary benchmarking, pay bands, and internal job leveling
  • Respond to internal and external recruiting related inquiries such as requests for job descriptions, application inquiries, and recruiting processes and procedures. As needed, create resources and policies to support hiring at GRID Alternatives
  • Manage recruiting data and produce reports ongoing and ad hoc to illustrate recruitment and EID efforts. This will likely include but is not limited to: Source Data (where are people coming from), demographics of both candidate pools and applicants hired (esp. Gender, race/ethnicity, and department), and tracking the both the range and final salary of each position
  • To support sourcing, attend job fairs and maintain relationships with regional offices, partner organizations, colleges, etc.
  • Manage any/all relationships with recruiting firms as needed including fee negotiation
  • Collaborate with other hiring programs at GRID Alternatives (SolarCorps Fellowship Program, Interns) as capacity allows. This may include direct recruiting support with specific positions and/or may include advising other hiring managers on process, best practices, etc.

What you need to bring to this role…
  • 5 years of Recruiting experience. Other applicable experience will be considered
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including interviewing, selling, negotiating and collaborating
  • Experience working at companies with multiple locations
  • Ultra-organized with demonstrated success in juggling multiple requests
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism; handle sensitive information (e.g. advance knowledge of an employee exit) with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Hired CA candidates must be able to pass a screening for drugs that are illegal in the state of California, including: amphetamine, cocaine metabolite, opiates, and PCP.
It would be great if you also had…
  • Familiarity with Paycor ATS and/or Paycom HRIS
  • Experience with high volume recruiting
  • Experience recruiting internationally (we have a small office in Nicaragua as well as a few contractors who work with us in Mexico and Nepal)
  • Savvy with new technologies
  • Passionate advocate for renewable energy, affordable housing, and/or environment/environmental justice work
  • Bilingual Spanish/English written and verbal language skills
Where you will sit & the places you may go…
Currently the People and Culture team is located in various remote and on-site locations throughout the US and we are open to the Recruiter working remotely or in one of our regional offices. (All U.S. Remote, U.S. Remote/Location Flexible, and U.S. Remote/Hybrid positions, require residency within the U.S., and residential verification will be required.)
This position may require up to 25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and job fairs. Availability to work nights and weekends may be required to connect with candidates.
GRID Alternatives provides vehicles for work travel, and due to COVID-19 current guidelines, we may also require limited personal vehicle use. In the latter instance, GRID will provide travel reimbursement for work-related personal vehicle use in accordance with our payroll schedule.

This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary commensurate with experience within the pay band of $80-108K, plus the benefits listed below. As part of our EID work we recognize that there are many factors that may impact people’s decisions about their working hours. We are open to discussing reduced hour schedules with candidates, noting there would be a commensurate pay adjustment.
