Recreation Therapist
Job Description:
- Responsible for planning and conducting group and individual recreation programs as assigned by the Director of Recreation
- Responsible for documenting program attendance and participation
- Facilitate independent activities for residents
- Assist residents to and from recreation programs
- All other tasks as assigned by the Director of Recreation
- Work as part of the care plan team in determining therapeutic objectives and goals.
- Create patient specific care plans
- Other duties as required
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must have Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field
- Minimum of 2 years working in healthcare setting with related populations
- Two years’ experience in a social or recreational program providing and coordinating services
- Must be available for full time (37.5) hours between two locations, Middle Island & Central Islip
- Working knowledge of physical, psycosocial and behavioral needs of population
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
