What You Will Be Doing

The Recreation Specialist, Child Watch position is responsible for organizing and cleaning equipment, providing high customer services with members, and enforcing fitness floor rules and regulations. Other duties include providing administrative and clerical support to the Recreation Division.

  • Availability: Specifically looking for Monday- Saturday 7:45am-1:30pm OR Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 7:15pm.
  • Safety: Ensures the overall safety, health, and welfare of all individuals participating in programming and using the recreation facilities and services of the City. Monitors The Marq facility spaces and offsite spaces including parks and joint-use facilities.
  • Attention to Detail: Performs tasks with care and is thorough, checks work to ensure accuracy and completeness, compares final work product to what is expected to find inconsistencies or errors, and remains aware and takes care of details that are easy to overlook or dismiss as insignificant.
  • The Southlake Way: Provides world class customer service by anticipating needs, being warm and sincere, listening with empathy, relentlessly pursuing solutions, owning the experience, and making the moment memorable with each customer. Greets customers, answers the telephone, and assists the general public. Provides information on departmental and city policies and procedures. Transfers and directs inquiries to the appropriate individual or department.

What You Bring To Us

  • A High School Diploma.
  • Up to two (2) years of relevant supervisory, fitness, child care and people management experience.
  • Supervisory experience highly preferred.
  • Experience working with children (6 weeks old to 9 years old) highly preferred.
  • Ability to remain flexible with your schedule.
