The City of Maple Valley Parks & Recreation Department seeks to hire Temporary Concession Stand Attendants for the 2023 Summer Beach Season at beautiful Lake Wilderness Park. Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator or Concession/Boat Rental Supervisor, this position will perform concession stand and other duties assigned.

Job responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for taking food and beverage orders, boat rental contracts, and merchandise sales
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of concession items, restocking, and tracking of product, and supporting the boat rental schedule as needed
• Responsible for maintaining packaged food and beverage in proper storage temperatures
• Responsible for cash handling and processing of payments for concession items and boat rentals
• Deliver high quality customer service experience in person, on the phone and through e-mail, providing information, fees, and availability for reservations and programs
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service.Create a positive experience for patrons through professional and courteous behavior
• Determine program equipment and supply needs.Assist with the distribution, care, use, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.Maintain supply and equipment inventories
• Assist with all City sponsored special events as needed and performs other duties as assigned

Education, Experience & Special Requirements:

• Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
• Current First Aid/CPR certifications or the ability to obtain prior to start of summer season required
• Cash handling and food service experience preferred
• Customer Service and Sales Experience preferred
• Must be able to make accurate change and accurately process credit/debit cards, maintain accurate money count in register and complete deposits
• Ability to write, speak, and visually communicate with others, particularly under stressful emergency conditions

This is a seasonal position, eligible to work up to 5 months and may work an irregular schedule that includes evenings and weekends as dictated by City programs and special events. This position is FLSA non-exempt and is eligible for overtime compensation. $16.00 - $18.72 per hour, DOE.
