SUMMARY:

With the Pennsylvania Department of Educations integration of structured literacy competencies and standards into educator preparation programs, now is the time to invest in the development of a program that will immediately have a positive effect on both educators and students!


Through CCRES' partnership with the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU), we seek three positions for Reading Specialist Certification Online Instructional Content Developers to work on assignment within the Innovative Educational Services Division of the CCIU.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Commit to a 4-month course development process to develop a single or multiple courses as part of the certification program, with the ability to work remotely and asynchronously and the ability to attend established virtual synchronous team course development meetings with CCIU colleagues as necessary.


Provide leadership and expertise for developing the curricular and instructional content of three blended courses (each with approximately 40 hours of primarily online asynchronous content delivery with additional field experience activities) that will prepare highly effective Pennsylvania Educational Specialist Certificates for Reading Specialists in a Standards Aligned Instruction System. Each course will include at least 6 hours of active project-based field experience and will create a clear standard for providing literacy instruction in Pennsylvania's schools.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree in Literacy, and/or Literacy Education
  • PA Reading Specialist Certificate
  • PA Instructional Certificate
  • 3-5 years of experience in a school-based setting


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Developing online course content
  • Delivering adult professional learning
  • Developing and implementing new programs
  • Success in school administrator positions
  • Training in Human Services/Social Sciences or Communications
  • Previous experience in conducting outreach to community agencies and organizations to assist families and children with resources and education


CREDENTIALING REQUIREMENTS:

(Clearances and TB current within 12 months)

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
  • PDE certification
