Job description—Radio Show Producer
Community Broadcasters, LLC - Florence SC, is looking for a Morning show Producer for the “Wake Up Carolina Show” with Ken Ard, the former Lieutenant Governor of SC, from 6am-10am Monday through Friday. Some of the main responsibilities include: handling the audio content of broadcasts, whether it is via radio, the Internet, and/or mobile platforms and booking guests. The producer is involved from the beginning of the content development process, which includes generating ideas for the program, creating content, writing scripts, and finding interviewees. During the show itself, the producer performs a managerial role and helps handle audience responses.
Experience in a related position is typically required or preferred. Radio producers must be well organized, able to work well in a team setting, and in possession of management and leadership skills.
Radio Producer Tasks
· Operate radio console for talk show programs and manage soundboards during live shows.
· Effectively interact with on-air talent and guests when needed.
· Schedule guests and assist in crafting appropriate direction for day-to-day programming.
· Can assemble equipment for remote broadcasts via skype.
· Must have contacts in the Pee Dee and surrounding areas and good knowledge of local politics and some local sports
