CURRENTLY SEEKING - R&D Pilot Plant Technician

TECH 2000 is seeking candidates for an R&D Pilot Plant Technician in Baton Rouge, LA.

Job specific details will vary by client location but the typical shift is 12hr rotating schedule and the pay range is $26-30/hr.

The position requires operating and maintaining assigned areas for the Pilot Plant. The position supports R&D trial activities for production lines. All tasks and activities are to be performed safely.

Experience Required:

• Chemical Manufacturing work preferred.
• Must be able to work with all chemicals, petrochemical, and petroleum products.

Education Requirement:

• Associate Degree of chemical manufacturing is preferred
• Bachelor's degree is preferred

Essential Job Functions:

• Operate all components of the pilot plant.
• Work with pilot plant engineers, operators, and all R&D and production plant personnel.
• Use a DCS process control computer.
• Run the devolatilization extruder system.
• Run steam stripper.
• Monitor and maintain raw material supplies.
• Arrange for shipping of pilot plant products to customers around the world.
• Record run data accurately.
• Serve as Industrial Hygiene contact.
• Troubleshoot plant problems and identify creative solutions.
• Modify or maintain the equipment and area at the optimal functioning condition.
• Support the transfer of the process technology from the pilot plant to production plant.
• Must be able to perform jobs and duties outside the normal scope of operations, including job planning, maintenance planning, safety coordinator, office duties/record keeping, coordinating mechanical integrity program, maintain and order supplies, etc.
