Quality Technician II- Blackwood, NJ


Purpose

Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process including incoming inspection, in-process inspection & testing, and final inspection & finished product auditing. Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine quality and reliability of products and components


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in all Quality Technician I job requirements
  • Measure and perform dimensional checks on parts
  • Perform inspection, audit, and test protocols
  • Address daily quality issues in Assembly & Fabrication areas
  • Participates root cause analysis of quality issues and implements corrective actions
  • Writes and processes Quality Notifications.
  • Implements Engineering Change Requests.
  • Processes reworks.
  • Evaluates processes for safety, quality, cycle reduction, and productivity improvement.
  • Helps maintain calibration of measuring and testing equipment.
  • Perform quality and material transactions in an ERP system
  • Operate pallet jack or dolly as trained and required
  • Comply with all company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS


Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associates Degree in related field preferred.


Experience

2-4 years of experience in a quality technician or inspector capacity in a manufacturing operation required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Computer experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and e-mail preferred.
  • Experience with SAP desirable.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles is desirable.
  • Interprets written and verbal information.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Adds and subtracts multiple digit numbers; understands and interprets decimals & angles.
  • Possesses technical reading experience that includes understanding and interpreting prints, wiring diagrams, and work instructions..
  • Possesses knowledge of ISO 9000 and KNA quality procedures.
  • Able to use hand tools, pneumatic tools etc.
  • Able to use measuring equipment, (calipers, micrometers, protractor)
  • Observe safety and security procedures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works in a production/fabrication warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy.

Base Salary

$20- $25 per hour
