QA Technician (2nd Shift) Job at Santa Monica Seafood
Summary:
Reporting to the QA Manager, the Quality Assurance & Food Safety Technician tests and conducts routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished product, using variety of testing devices and procedures to maintain product quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of the corrective actions with the appropriate facility management personnel.
- Participate in our verification of the effectiveness of the internal auditing of the Regulatory systems
- Assists with the training of employees on HACCP and other food safety programs.
- Play an important role in conducting plant inspections and be part of Food Defense audits.
- Provides support maintaining the integrity and calibration of all equipment.
- Data collection of daily activities in the production process.
- Performs inspection to validate cleanliness of the equipment and infrastructure.
- Collect samples of finished goods shelf life studies and quality checks
- Experience and familiarity in dealing with the various regulatory groups necessary to support a seafood processing and distribution facility and a retail/restaurant facility – e.g., OSHA, County Sanitation, Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), County Fire Department, FDA, County Department of Weights and Measures, etc.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year factory related experience preferred.
Bi-Lingual English/Spanish preffered.
Work Environment:
- Work performed in a cold environment
- Standing for long hours
Hours: 3:30PM-12AM (OT and Saturdays likely).
